[ASSENTED TO 11TH NOVEMBER, 1926.J MENJ9~ ficT BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, OF .• by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, ,and by the authority of the same, 9JS follows:- Short title. 1. This Act may be cited as "The Sugar Workers' and t t' Perpetual Lease Selections Act Amendment Act of 1926," ~~ ~ c~ ~ ( IOn and shall be read as one with "The Sugar Workers' Perpetual Lease Selecti:ms Act of 1923."* 2. (1.) After section five of "The SU(Jar Workers' Perpetual Lease Selections Act of 1923"* the following section is inserted :- Mortgage of "[5A.J Notwithstanding anything in the Principal ~ election. Act or in this Act contained, the holder of a selection selected, acquired, or held under this Act and the Principal Act shall possess, at any time after the issue of the license to occupy the selection (whether the lease thereof has been issued qr the same is being held under the license to occupy), the same right and authority to mortgage the selection as is possessed by the holder of a perpetual lease selection held under the Principal Act and any' amendment of that Act for the time being in furce which is not subject to the condition of per.sonal residence and the lease whereof has actually been issued to mortga.ge his selection." (2.) Section 5A hereby enacted shall be deemed to have been inserted in "The Sugar Workers' Perpetual Lease Selections Act of 1923"* at the date of the passing thereof, namely, the tenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three. . * 14 Geo.
