2 Sugar Industry Amendment (No. 2) No. 117, 1992 ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Sugar Industry Amendment Regulation (No. 2) 1992 . ˙ Amended regulation 2. The SugarIndustryRegulation1991 is amended as set out in this regulation. ˙ Insertion of new ss.14 to 20 3. After section 13— insert— ˙ ‘Amount of assessment—Sugar Experiment Stations Board ‘14. For the purposes of section 4.20 of the Act, the amount of the assessment for each tonne of sugar cane received at each sugar cane works is $0.24, subject to any rebate given under section 17. ˙ ‘Period subject to assessment—Sugar Experiment Stations Board ‘15. The period for which sugar cane received at a sugar cane works is subject to the assessment is the 1992 crushing season. ˙ ‘Time for payment of assessment—Sugar Experiment Stations Board ‘16. The assessment— (a) for the sugar cane received from the beginning of the crushing season to 31 July 1992—must be paid before 15 August 1992; and (b) for the sugar cane received from 1 August 1992 to 31 October 1992—must be paid before 15 November 1992; and (c) for the sugar cane received from 1 November 1992 to the end of the crushing season—must be paid within 14 days after the end of the crushing season.

3 Sugar Industry Amendment (No. 2) No. 117, 1992 ˙ ‘Rebate of assessment—Sugar Experiment Stations Board ‘17.(1) In this section— “relevant rebate period” in relation to an assessment, means the period between— (a) the end of the period to which the last preceding assessment relates; and (b) the end of the period to which the assessment in question relates. ‘(2) The Board must rebate any assessment by any amount, other than a research grant, received during the relevant rebate period from any other organisation funded by statutory levy on the sugar industry. ‘(3) For the purposes of section 4.20(5) of the Act, the amount of the assessment less any rebate is taken to be the assessment paid. ˙ ‘Amount of assessment—Productivity Boards ‘18. For the purposes of section 5.14 of the Act, the amount of the assessment for each tonne of sugar cane received at each sugar cane works within the area of each Productivity Board in column 1 of Schedule 3 is the corresponding amount in column 2. ˙ ‘Periods subject to assessment—Productivity Boards ‘19. The following periods in a crushing season are subject to the assessment— (a) from the beginning of the crushing season to 31 July; (b) from 1 August to 31 October; (c) from 1 November to the end of the crushing season. ˙ ‘Time for payment of assessment—Productivity Boards ‘20. The assessment must be paid within 14 days after the end of the period to which it relates. ’.
