1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to extend the operation of the Co-operatives Regulations 1997 for the period specified in regulation 3.

2Authorising provisions

These Regulations are made under sections 5 and 28 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1994.

3Extension of operation

The operation of the Co-operatives Regulations 1997[1] is extended for the period beginning on the day on which they would otherwise be revoked by virtue of section 5 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1994 and ending on 29 September 2008.

4Revocation

These Regulations expire on 30 September 2008.

1.     General Information

The Subordinate Legislation (Co-operatives Regulations 1997 - Extension of Operation) Regulations 2007, S.R. No. 96/2007 were made on 10 September 2007 by the Governor in Council, on the certificate and recommendation of the Minister for Consumer Affairs, under sections 5 and 28 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1994, No. 104/1994 and came into operation on 10 September 2007.

The Subordinate Legislation (Co-operatives Regulations 1997 - Extension of Operation) Regulations 2007 will expire on 30 September 2008: see regulation 4.

There are no amendments made to the Subordinate Legislation (Co-operatives Regulations 1997 - Extension of Operation) Regulations 2007 by statutory rules, subordinate instruments and Acts.
