REGULATIONS UNDER THE STUDENT ASSISTANCE ACT 1973*

THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice
of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under

AMENDMENTS OF THE STUDENT ASSISTANCE REGULATIONS
(a) by inserting in paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (2) “ and subject to sub-regulation (4), by each person who is a parent of the applicant where the form referred to in paragraph (a) requires that person’s gross annual income to be stated in the application ” after “ applicant ”; and
(b) by adding at the end of that regulation the following sub-regulation:
“ (4) An application for Assistance need not be signed by a person who is a parent of the applicant where—
(a) illness, incapacity or prolonged absence of that person prevents that person from signing the application; or
(b) separate documentary evidence of that person’s gross annual income is made available to an authorized person.”.

“ (a) if he is undertaking, or proposing to undertake, the first year of—
(i) the 4 year course of study for the Diploma of Music at the Mclba Memorial Conservatorium of Music in Victoria; or
(ii) the 2 year course of study for the Diploma of Dance Education at the Graduate College of Dance in Western Australia;”.
