Student Assistance Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Student Assistance Act 1973.

Commencement

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1 August 1984.

Notice of proceedings of Tribunal

2. (1) Regulation 79 of the Student Assistance Regulations is amended by omitting “7” and substituting “14”.

(2) The amendment effected by sub-regulation (1) does not apply in respect of proceedings in relation to a decision a request for the reconsideration of which was made under section 22 of the Student Assistance Act 1973 as amended and in force immediately before 1 August 1984.

Further amendments of Student Assistance Regulations

3. The Student Assistance Regulations are further amended as set out in the Schedule.

FURTHER AMENDMENTS OF STUDENT ASSISTANCE REGULATIONS

Sub-regulation 41 (3a)—

Omit “to which the Act applies”.

Sub-regulation 42 (9) -

Omit “to which the Act applies”.

Sub-regulation 51 (2)

Omit “to which the Act applies”.

Sub-regulation 70 (7)—

Omit “to which the Act applies”.

Sub-regulation 74 (6) (definition of “educational assistance”)

Omit “to which the Act applies”.

Regulation 77

(a) Omit “his travelling and other expenses”, substitute “the travelling and other expenses of the witness”.

(b) Omit “Chairman”, substitute “Chairperson”.

Sub-regulation 78 (2)—

Omit “Chairman”, substitute “Chairperson”.

Regulation 79—

Omit “Chairman”, substitute “Chairperson”.

Sub-regulation 87 (1)

(a) Omit “under his hand”, substitute “signed by that authorized person”.

(b) Omit “to which the Act applies”.

Paragraph 91 (b)—

Omit “to which the Act applies”.

Sub-regulation 92 (1)—

Omit “to which the Act applies”.
