(Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Student Assistance Act 1973.

Principal Regulations

1. In these Regulations “Principal Regulations” means the Student Assistance Regulations.

2. After regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations the following regulation is inserted:

Meaning of “university”

“4a. For the purposes of the definition of ‘university’ in section 5 of the Act, each of the following educational institutions is to be treated as a university for the purposes of the Act:

(a) each educational institution that comes within the definition of ‘university’ in subsection 4(1) of the Commonwealth Tertiary Education Commission Act 1977;

(b) University College of the Northern Territory.”.

Interpretation—Part III

3. Regulation 29 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting subregulation (4).
