(Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Student Assistance Act 1973.

Commencement

1. These Regulations commence on 1 January 1989.

Principal Regulations

2. In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Student Assistance Regulations.

Eligibility

3. Regulation 51 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting subregulations (7), (7a), (7b), (7c), (8) and (9).

Living allowance

4. Regulation 70 of the Principal Regulations is amended:

(a) by omitting from paragraph (2) (a) “$11,102.40” and substituting “$12,635.40”;

(b) by omitting from paragraphs (2) (d) and (c) “$8,882” (wherever occurring) and substituting “$10,415”.
