I, Jenny Macklin, Minister for Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs, make the following rule under the Stronger Futures in the Northern Territory Act 2012.

1Name of rule

This rule is the Stronger Futures in the Northern Territory (Food Security Areas) Rule 2012 .

2Commencement

This rule commences on the day after it is registered.

3Definitions

In this rule:

Act means the Stronger Futures in the Northern Territory Act 2012.

ASGC 2006 means the document produced by the Australian Bureau of Statistics called Statistical Geography: Volume 3 - Australian Standard Geographical Classification (ASGC) Urban Centres/Localities, 2006 (ABS Catalogue No. 2909.0).

ASGS 2011 means the document produced by the Australian Bureau of Statistics called Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS): Volume 1 - Main Structure and Greater Capital City Statistical Areas, July 2011(ABS Catalogue No. 1270.0.55.001).

4Areas that are not in the food security area

1. (1)

   This rule is made for subsection 74 (1) of the Act.

2. (2)

   The following areas in the Northern Territory are not in the food security area:

   1. (a)

      the following areas listed in the ASGC 2006:

      1. (i)

         700200 Alice Springs;

      2. (ii)

         703600 Katherine;

      3. (iii)

         705000 Nhulunbuy;

      4. (iv)

         706800 Tennant Creek;

   2. (b)

      the following areas listed in the ASGS 2011:

      1. (i)

         70101 Darwin City;

      2. (ii)

         70102 Darwin Suburbs;

      3. (iii)

         70104 Palmerston;

      4. (iv)

         71031 Howard Springs;

      5. (v)

         71032 Humpty Doo;

      6. (vi)

         71034 Virginia.
