Stock Routes and Rural Lands Protection Act Amdt. Act 1981, No. 96 1007 BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title . This Act may be cited as the Stock Routes and Rural Lands Protection Act Amendment Act 1981. 2. Commencement . (1) This section and section (1) shall commence on the day on which this Act is assented to for and on behalf of Her Majesty. (2) Except as provided by. subsection (1), this Act shall commence on a day appointed by Proclamation. 3. Principal Act and citation as amended . (1) In this Act the Stock Routes and Rural Lands Protection Act 1944-1978 is referred to as the Principal Act. (2) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Stock Routes and Rural Lands Protection Act 1944-1981. 4. Amendment of s. 13A. Section 13A of the Principal Act is amended by in subsection (1)- (a) omitting the expressions " 10 " and " 13 " and substituting the expressions " 11 " and " 14 " respectively; (b) inserting after provision (d) the following provision:- " (da) an owner or occupier of a holding nominated by The Committee of Direction of Fruit Marketing;". 5. Amendment of s. 13B. Section 13B of the Principal Act is amended by, in the first paragraph of subsections (1) and (2), inserting after the expression "(d)" the expression ", (da)" in each case. 6. Term of office. The term of office of the person first appointed to be a member of the Stock Routes and Rural Lands Protection Board as the nominee of The Committee of Direction of Fruit Marketing shall, subject to the Principal Act, hold office as such member from the date of his appointment until the expiration of the term of office of the other members of the Board (other than the chairman and members ex officio), and shall be eligible, if he is duly nominated, for further appointment to the membership of the Board.
