THE STOCK RETURNS ACTS [ASSENTED TO 4TH DECEMBER, 1942.] AMENDMENT ACT OF 1942. B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- I. (1.) This Act may be cited as " The Stock Returns Short title Acts Amendment Act of 1942," and shall be read as one and t t' with *" The Stock Returns Acts, 1893 to 1935," herein ~ ~ ~ c~ ~ c Ion referred to as the Principal Act. Section one of the Principal Act is amended as Amendment follows :_ of s. 1. (i.) The words" " The Pastoral Leases Act of 1869," " The Crown Lands Act of 1884," " are repealed and the words t"" The Land Acts, 1910 to 1941" (or any Act amending or in substitution for, or read or construed with, the same) " are inserted in lieu thereof. (ii.) Stock Returns Acts Amendment Act. 293 Improvement Acts, 1930 to 1934," *" The Stock Routes Improvement and Animal and Vegetable Pests Destruction Acts, 1936 to 1938," and t" The RabbitAct of 1913" (or any Acts amending or in substitution for such Acts) or such other Acts as may be prescribed, and for statistical purposes generally." 5. A new section (3A) is inserted after section three New S.3A. of the Principal Act, as follows : - " [3A.] During the existence of tp.e present War Suspension and for a period of twelve months certain commencing on ~ ~blication =S. the first day of January next following after the date of s,tock list on which His Majesty ceases to be engaged in the present War War, and for such extended period as the Governor in Council may from time to time by Order in Council prescribe, the printing and publishing of the,1ist compiled from returns received by the Government Statistician and recorded in the book kept for the purpose as prescribed by section three of this Act shall be discontinued. Moreover, it shall be sufficient for the purposes of all or any of the Acts referred to in the said section three if lists in writing, containing particulars of the owners of and the number of stock depastured by them, as so recorded, certified as correct by the Government Statistician (or officer authorised in that behalf), and as required from time to time by any authority or instrumentality for the purposes of any Act or Acts referred to, were supplied by the Government Statistician to such authority or instrumentality. Any such list so certified shall be receivable as prima facie evidence of all or any of the particulars indicated therein and of the authority of the person certifying the same, to so certify, before all courts and persons acting judicially in the State." 6. No. 29, be convenient for the administration of this Act or that may be necessary or expedient to carry out the objects and purposes of this Act. Without limiting the generality of this subsection, regulations may be made in respect of all matters or things required or permitted by this Act to be prescribed in so far as the same are not otherwise prescribed. Orders in (2.) All Orders in Council and regulations made or io~ i~ ? r purporting to have been made under this Act shall be toe b~ a lO~ published in the Gazette, and thereupon shall be of the b~~ ! :~ed ID sa~ e e. ff~ ct as if .they were enacted in this ~ ct and shall be JudiCIally notICed and shall not be questIOned in any proceedings whatsoever. Hav be (3.) Any Order in Council or regulation made under amended. this Act may be repealed or modified by a subsequent Order in Council or regulation. To be laid (4.) Every Order in Council or regulation made under Pbeafroliraement. this Act shall be laid before Parliament within fourteen days after its publication in the Gazette if Parliament is in session; and if not, then within fourteen days after the commencement of the next session. If Parliament passes a resolution disallowing any such Order in Council or regulation, of which resolution notice has been given at any time within fourteen sitting days of such House after such Order in Council or regulation has been laid before it, such Order in Council or regulation shall thereupon cease to have effect, but without prejudice to the validity of anything done in the meantime or to the power to make any further or other Order in Council or regulation.
