Stock {Chemical Residues) Meat Inspection {Amendment).

BE it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows;-—

Short title.

1.          This Act may be cited as the “Stock (Chemical Residues) Meat

Inspection (Amendment) Act, 1983”.

Commencement.

2.     (1) Except as provided by subsection (2), this Act shall commence

on the date of assent to this Act.

(2) Section 3 sliall commence on the day appointed and notified under section 2 (2) of the Stock Diseases (Meat Inspection) Amendment Act, 1983.

Amendment of Act No. 26,1975.

3. The Stock (Chemical Residues) Act, 1975, is amended by inserting

after section 6 the following section;—

Commonwealth meat inspectors may exercise certain powers of inspectors.

6a. (1) An employee under an Act of the Parliament of the Commonwealth who, in his capacity as such, engages in the inspec­ tion of meat may exercise the powers of an inspector referred to in section 5 (1) (b).

Stock {Chemical Residues) Meat Inspection {Amendment).

(2) A reference in this Act to an inspector includes a reference to a person referred to in subsection (1) in the course of his exercising, as referred to in that subsection, the powers of an inspector.
