AMENDMENT ACT

No. 3 of 1987

AN ACT to amend the Stock (Brands and Movement) Act 1970.

[Assented to 29 May 1987]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Stock (Brands and Movement)

Amendment Act 1987.

Commencement

2.    This Act shall come into operation on such day as is fixed by

proclamation.

Section 32 amended

3. Section 32 of the Stock (Brands and Movement) Act 1970* is

amended

(a)

by inserting after the section designation "32" the subsection designation "(1)";

(b)

by deleting "The" and substituting the following-

" Subject to subsection (2), the ";

(c)

by deleting "or slaughter"; and

(d)

by inserting after subsection (1) the following subsection

"

(2) Subsection (1) does not require a proprietor of swine

to brand any of his swine being removed from the run and consigned for slaughter, regardless of whether that consignment is for the purpose of sale or otherwise. ".
