AN ACT to amend the Stock (Brands and

Movement) Act, 1970-1978.

[Assented to 3rd October, 1979.]

RE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent

Majesty, by and with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council and the Legislative

Assembly of Western Australia, in this present

Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the

same, as follows:—

Short title

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Stock (Brands

and

This Act shall come into operation on a date

to be fixed by proclamation.

Section 5

amended.

3.

Section 5 of the principal Act is amended as

to the definition "Breed Society" by adding after the

word "breed" in line two the words "or strain".

Section 30

4.

Section 30 of the principal Act is amended

amended.

(a)

as to subsection (1), by deleting the passage "subsection (4) of" in line one; and

(b)

by adding a subsection to stand as sub- section (5) as follows

(5) The proprietor of any stud horse may, within such time as is specified in this section for the branding of horses, mark the horse in the prescribed manner with his Breed Society mark, and thereupon no further branding of the horse is required by this Act. .
