224 Stock Act Amendment Act 1989, No. 25 BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title and citation . (1) This Act may be cited as the Stock Act Amendment Act 1989. (2) In this Act the Stock Act 1915-1987 is referred to as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Stock Act 1915-1989. 2. Amendment of s. 30 . Disease eradication programmes . Section 30 of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) adding at the end of subsection (1) the following paragraph:- "The Order in Council may prescribe the manner in which the programme is to be carried out and for that purpose may prescribe a time or times in respect of the programme's performance and may adopt wholly or in part, either by way of reference or by way of express specification therein, any of the standard rules, definitions, codes or specifications of or approved by any of the bodies known as the Standards Association of Australia, the British Standards Institute, the National Biological Standards Laboratory, the Standing Committee on Agriculture or any other body whatsoever identified in the order."; (b) omitting subsection (6) and substituting the following subsection:- "(6) The Chief Inspector may issue an order for the destruction or disposal of all or any stock in or upon any holding or premises if he is of the opinion that such destruction or disposal is necessary or desirable for the purpose of eradicating a disease in respect of which a disease eradication programme is instituted under subsection (1). An order may be issued under this subsection whether or not the stock to which it relates have been tested by an inspector or Authorized Veterinary Surgeon for the purpose of the disease eradication programme."; (c) inserting after subsection (7) the following subsection:- "(7A) For the purpose of ensuring compliance with an order issued under subsection (6), an inspector may, from time to time, direct the person to whom the order is given to muster any stock (including stock to which the order does not relate) in the manner specified by the inspector.".
