STIPENDIARY MAGISTRATES

AMENDMENT ACT

No. 74 of 1986

AN ACT to amend the Stipendiary Magistrates Act 1957.

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with theadvice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative

Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title

1. This Act may be cited as the Stipendiary Magistrates Amendment

Act 1986.

Commencement

2.    This Act shall come into operation on a day to be fixed by

proclamation.

Section 4 amended

3. Section 4 of the Stipendiary Magistrates Act 1957* is amended in

subsection (2) by deleting paragraph (c) and substituting the following

paragraph

" (c) before the commencement of the Stipendiary Magistrates

Amendment Act 1986, that person-

(i)  has passed the prescribed examinations and fulfilled such other requirements as are prescribed; or

(ii)   has passed or received a credit in respect of at least one of the prescribed examinations and, within the time prescribed, subsequently passes the other prescribed examinations and fulfils such other requirements as are prescribed. ".
