AN ACT to amend section nine of the Stipendiary

Magistrates Act, 1930.

[Assented to 1st November,1947 .]

BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis-

lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title. This Act may be cited as the Stipendiary Magis- trates Act Amendment Act, 1947, and shall be read as one with the Stipendiary Magistrates Act, 1930 (No. 17 of 1930), hereinafter referred to as the principal Act.

Section nine of the principal Act is amended by

substituting for the proviso the following:—

(a) affect the appointment of wardens or the establishment of warden 's courts under the Mining Act, 1904-1945, or the appoint- ment of coroners under the Coroners Act, 1920; nor

(b) apply to a magistrate of a local court, or a police or resident magistrate or a coroner (which expression shall not include a deputy coroner) assisting a stipendiary magistrate to act for or in any local court, court of session or magis- terial district for the time being assigned

to him under section five, subsection (3)

of this Act.
