Stevedoring Industry Levy (Rates of Levy) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and after taking into consideration the recommendations made to the Minister of State for Employment and Industrial Relations by the Stevedoring Industry Finance Committee established by the Stevedoring Industry Finance Committee Act 1977 with respect to the rates of levy to be prescribed for the purposes of sections 5, 6, 7 and 8, respectively, of the Stevedoring Industry Levy Act 1977, hereby make the following Regulations under the Stevedoring Industry Levy Act 1977.

Commencement

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on 29 December 1986

Rates of Levy

2. Regulation 4 of the Stevedoring Industry Levy (Rates of Levy) Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (1) “$1.56” and substituting “$2.26”;

(b) by omitting from sub-regulation (2) “$10.56” and substituting “$11.26”;

(c) by omitting from sub-regulation (3) “68 cents” and substituting “49 cents”;

(d) by inserting after sub-regulation (3) the following sub-regulation:

“(3a) The amount of 5 cents per tonne of local cargo loaded into ships is prescribed for the purposes of section 7 of the Act.”; and

(e) by omitting from sub-regulation (4) “35 cents” and substituting “25 cents”.
