Stevedoring Industry Levy (Rates of Levy) Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and after taking into consideration the recommendations made to the Minister of State for Employment and Industrial Relations by the Stevedoring Industry Finance Committee established by the Stevedoring Industry Finance Committee Act 1977 with respect to the rate of levy to be prescribed for the purposes of section 6 of the Stevedoring Industry Levy Act 1977 and the rate of levy to be prescribed for the purposes of section 8 of that Act, hereby make the following Regulations under the Stevedoring Industry Levy Act 1977.

Commencement

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1 August 1984.

Rates of levy

2. Regulation 4 of the Stevedoring Industry Levy (Rates of Levy) Regulations is amended by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulations:

“(3) The amount of 88 cents per bulk handling man-hour of employment is prescribed for the purposes of section 6 of the Act.

“(4) The amount of 45 cents per tonne of overseas cargo loaded into or unloaded from ships is prescribed for the purposes of section 8 of the Act.”.
