13 (01ter slaty t ANNO DUODECIMO ELIZABETHAE SECUNDAE REGINAE No. 7 of 1963 An Act Relating to Certain Statutory Salaries and Allowances [ASSENTED TO 23RD SEPTEMBER, 1963] BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- PART I-PRELIMINARY 1. (1) Short title . This Act may be cited as " The Statutory Salaries and Allowances Act of 1963." (2) Commencement of Act. This Act shall be deemed to have come into force on and from the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and sixty-three, and shall operate retrospectively accordingly. 2. Parts of Act. This Act is divided into Parts, as follows:- PART I-PRELIMINARY; PART II-AMENDMENTS OF " THE AUDIT ACTS, 1874 TO 1960 "; PART III-AMENDMENTS OF " THE RAILWAYS ACTS, 1914 TO 1961 "; PART IV-AMENDMENTS OF " THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACTS, 1922 TO 1960 " ; AND PART V-AMENDMENTS OF " THE LAND ACT OF 1962."
14 Statutory Salaries and Allowances Act of 1963, No. 7 PART II-AMENDMENTS OF " THE AUDIT ACTS, 1874 TO 1960 " 3. (1) Interpretation of Part H. This Part II of this Act shall be read as one with " The Audit Acts, 1874 to 1960." (2) Collective title. " The Audit Acts, 1874 to 1960," and this Part II of this Act may be collectively cited as " The Audit Acts, 1874 to 1963." 4. Amendments of 17 Geo . V. No. 5. Section two of " The Audit Acts Amendment Act of 1926," is amended by- (i) in subsection ( 1) omitting the words " four thousand seven hundred pounds per annum " and inserting in their stead the words " four thousand nine hundred and fifty pounds per annum "; and (ii) omitting subsection (2) and inserting in its stead the following subsection:- " (2) The rate for the time being of the salary of the Auditor-General shall, as on and from the first day of July of each and every year, commencing with the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and sixty-three, be increased or, as the case may be, decreased by the amount calculated on an annual basis to the nearest pound by which the basic wage for males declared by the Full Bench of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Commission under " The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act of 1961," shall have been increased or decreased during the preceding period of twelve months. Such rate shall, as on and from the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and sixty-three, be increased by the amount by which the salary payable to the Auditor-General immediately prior to that date had been increased pursuant to the provisions of this Act for which this subsection has been substituted." PART III-AMENDMENTS OF " THE RAILWAYS ACTS, 1914 . - o 1961 " 5. (1) Interpretation of Part III . This Part III of this Act shall be read as one with " The Railways Acts, 1914 to 1961." (2) Collective title . " The Railways Acts, 1914 to 1961," and this Part III of this Act may be collectively cited as "The Railways Acts, 1914 to 1963." 6. Amendments of 5 Geo. V. No. 24. Section seven of " The Railways Acts, 1914 to 1959," is amended by- (i) in subsection (1) omitting the words " five thousand four hundred pounds per annum " and inserting in their stead the words " five thousand six hundred and fifty pounds per annum "; and (ii) omitting subsection (2) and inserting in its stead the following subsection:- " (2) Both the annual rate of the salary payable for the time being to the Commissioner and the maximum annual rate for the time being which that salary may not exceed shall, as on and from the first day of July of each and every year, commencing with the first day of July, one thousand

PART IV-AMENDMENTS OF "THE PUBLIC SERVICE ACTS, 1922 To 1960" 7. (1) Interpretation of Part IV. This Part IV of this Act shall be read as one with " The Public Service Acts, 1922 to 1960." (2) Collective title . " The Public Service Acts, 1922 to 1960," and this Part IV of this Act may be collectively cited as " The Public Service Acts, 1922 to 1963." 8. Amendments of 13 Geo . V. No. 31. Section six of " The Public Service Acts, 1922 to 1960," is amended by- (i) in subsection (1) omitting the words " four thousand seven hundred pounds per annum " and inserting in their stead the words " four thousand nine hundred and fifty pounds per annum "; and (ii) omitting subsection (2) and inserting in its stead the following subsection:- " (2) Both the annual rate of the salary payable for the time being to the Commissioner and the maximum annual rate for the time being which that salary may not exceed shall, as on and from the first day of July of each and every year, commencing with the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and sixty-three, be increased or, as the case maybe, decreased by the amount calculated on an annual basis to the nearest pound by which the basic wage for males declared by the Full Bench of the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Commission under "The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act of 1961," shall have been increased or decreased during the preceding period of twelve months. PART V-AMExDMENrs of " THE LAND Acr of 1962 " 9. (1) Interpretation of Part V . This Part V of this Act shall be read as one with " The Land Act of 1962." (2) Collective title. " The Land Act of 1962 " and this Part V of this Act may be collectively cited as " The Land Acts, 1962 to 1963."
16 Statutory Salaries and Allowances Act of 1963, No. 7 10. Amendments of No. 42 of 1962. Section thirty-one of "The LandAct of1962 " is amended by- (i) in subsection (1) omitting the words " five thousand pounds per annum " and inserting in their stead the words " five thousand two hundred and fifty pounds per annum "; and (ii) in subsection (2) omitting the words " four thousand five hundred pounds per annum " and inserting in their stead the words " four thousand seven hundred and fifty pounds per annum ".
