P art I.— P reliminary . 1. (1.) This Act may be cited as “The Statutory short title. Salaries and Allowances Act of 1953.” (2.) No. 23, ACTS, 1910 TO 1952 ” ---------------------- :----------------------------------------------------------- -------- (6) The salaries of the members of the Court (other than the member designated as President of the Land Court) shall be at the rate of two thousand one hundred and seventy-five pounds per annum. (2.) The rates for the time being of the salaries respectively of the member of the Court designated as President of the Land Court and of the other members of the Court shall, as on and from the first day of July of each and every year, commencing with the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-four, be increased or, as the case may be, decreased by the amount calculated on an annual basis to the nearest pound by which the basic wage for males declared by the Industrial Court under *“ The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Acts, 1932 to 1953,” shall have been increased or decreased during the preceding period of twelve months. (3.) The amount payable for the time being of each and every one of the aforesaid salaries shall be a charge upon and payable out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the State which is hereby appropriated accordingly.” PART III.— A mendments III. Section six of j-“ The Public Service Acts, 1922 Nofo1. 331G.eo. V. to 1950,” is repealed and, in lieu of that repealed section, the following section is inserted, namely:— Salary of Commis­ sioner. “ [d.] ( 1 .) Subject to subsection two of this section, the Commissioner shall be paid a salary at such annual rate, not exceeding the rate of two thousand seven hundred pounds per annum, as the Governor in Council may from time to time determine. (2.) Both the annual rate of the salary payable for the time being to the Commissioner and the maximum annual rate for the time being which that salary may not exceed shall, as on and from the first day of July of each and every year, commencing with the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-four, be increased or, as the case may be, decreased by the amount calculated on an annual basis to the nearest pound by which the basic wage for males declared by the Industrial Court under *“ The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Acts, 1932 to 1953,” shall have been increased or decreased during the preceding period of twelve months. (3.)
