Act No. 54, 1971.

An Act to increase the salaries of the Judges of the Supreme Court and District Courts and of certain other Judges and of the holders of certain other statutory offices; for this and other purposes to amend the Constitution Act, 1902, the Supreme Court and Circuit Courts Act, 1900, the District Courts Act, 1912, the Public Service Act, 1902, the Western Lands Act of 1901, the Valuation of Land Act, 1916, the Industrial Arbitration Act, 1940, and certain other Acts in certain respects; to repeal the Statutory Salaries Adjustment Act, 1970; to validate certain matters; and for purposes connected therewith. [Assented to, 14th December, 1971.]

Statutory Salaries Adjustment.

D E it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by No. 54, 1971 follows 1—

-D and with the advice and consent of the Legislative

Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in

1. This Act may be cited as the “Statutory Salaries short title.

Adjustment Act, 1971”.

2.      The salary payable to the holder of an office specified Salaries of

in the first column of the First Schedule to this Act pursuant

to the enactment specified opposite that office in the second in First

column of that Schedule—

Schedule.

(a)

shall be deemed, as on and from the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and seventy- one and up to and including the thirtieth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and seventy-one, to have been increased to the amount specified opposite that office in the third column of that Schedule;

(b)

shall be deemed, as on and from the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and seventy-one, to have been increased and is, up to and including the thirty-first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and seventy-one, hereby increased to the amount specified opposite that office in the fourth column of that Schedule; and

(c)

is, as on and from the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and seventy-two, hereby increased to the amount specified opposite that office in the fifth column of that Schedule.

3.      The holder of an office specified in the first column Allowances

of the Second Schedule to this Act shall, as on and from the of officers first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and seventy- in Second two, be entitled to receive an allowance for special expenses Schedule, incurred by him in the capacity of holder of the particular

office at the annual rate specified opposite that office in the

second column of that Schedule.

4.      The Statutory Salaries Adjustment Act, 1970, is hereby Repeal of
