s1 3 s5 Statutory Instruments Amendment (No. 2) No. 223, 2000 ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Statutory Instruments Amendment Regulation (No. 2) 2000 . ˙ Regulation amended 2. This regulation amends the Statutory Instruments Regulation 1992 . ˙ Amendment of s 3A (Interpretation for pt 3) 3. Section 3A(2), ‘8’— omit, insert— ‘12’. ˙ Insertion of new s 3D 4. Part 3, division 2, after section 3C— insert— ˙ Exemptions to 31 August 2005—Act, s 56(1) and (2), uniform subordinate legislation 3D.(1) Subordinate legislation mentioned in schedule 2B— (a) is substantially uniform or complementary with legislation of the Commonwealth or another State; and (b) is exempt from expiry under part 7 of the Actfor the period ending at midnight on 31 August 2005 (the “exemption period” ). (2) The exemption for an instrument of subordinate legislation ends if the subordinate legislation stops having effect during the exemption period.’. ˙ Insertion of new ss 10-12 5. After section 9— insert—
s5 4 s5 Statutory Instruments Amendment (No. 2) No. 223, 2000 ˙ Exemptions to 31 August 2001—Act, s 56A(1)(a), replacement being drafted or no replacement proposed 10.(1) Subordinate legislation mentioned in schedule 10, if not repealed on or before 1 September 2000, is exempt from expiry under part 7 of the Act for the period ending at midnight on 31 August 2001 (the “exemption period” ). (2) The exemption of subordinate legislation under subsection (1) is because either— (a) replacement subordinate legislation is being drafted and is proposed to be made before the exemption period ends; or (b) the subordinate legislation is not proposed to be replaced by other subordinate legislation made under the Act under which or in relation to which it was made or preserved when it expires at the end of the exemption period. (3) The exemption for an instrument of subordinate legislation ends if the instrument stops having effect during the exemption period. ˙ Exemptions to 31 August 2001—Act, s 56A(1)(b), subject to review 11.(1) Subordinate legislation mentioned in schedule 11, if not repealed on or before 1 September 2000, is exempt from expiry under part 7 of the Act for the period ending at midnight on 31 August 2001 (the “exemption period” ). (2) The exemption of subordinate legislation under subsection (1) is because the Act or provision under which or in relation to which the subordinate legislation, or part of the subordinate legislation, is made or preserved is subject to review. (3) The exemption for an instrument of subordinate legislation ends if the instrument stops having effect during the exemption period. ˙ Exemptions to 31 August 2001—Act, s 56A(2), subject to review 12.(1) Subordinate legislation mentioned in schedule 12, if not repealed on or before midnight on 31 August 2000, is exempt from expiry under part 7 of the Act for the period ending at midnight on 31 August 2001 (the “exemption period” ).

(3) The exemption for an instrument of subordinate legislation ends if the instrument stops having effect during the exemption period.’. ˙ Insertion of new sch 2B 6.
