s1 3 s5 Statutory Instruments Amendment (No. 2) No. 192, 1999 ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Statutory Instruments Amendment Regulation (No. 2) 1999 . ˙ Regulation amended 2. This regulation amends the Statutory Instruments Regulation 1992 . ˙ Amendment of s 3A (Interpretation for pt 3) 3. Section 3A(2), ‘3 to 6’— omit, insert— ‘3 to 8’. ˙ Replacement of pt 3, div 2, hdg and insertion of new s 3C 4. Part 3, division 2, heading— omit, insert— Division 2—Exemptions from expiry for uniform subordinate legislation ˙ Exemption to 31 August 2000—Act, s 56, uniform subordinate legislation 3C.(1) The Futures Industry (Application of Laws—Regulations) Regulation 1989 is exempt from expiry under part 7 of the Act for the period ending at midnight on 31 August 2000 (the “exemption period” ). (2) The exemption ends if the subordinate legislation stops having effect during the exemption period.’. ˙ Insertion of new pt 3, div 3, hdg 5. Before section 4— insert— Division 3—Exemptions from expiry for other subordinate legislation ’.

Part 3, division 3, heading— omit. ˙ Amendment of s 6 (Exemptions from expiry—Act, s 56(1)(c)) 9.(1) Section 6, heading— omit, insert— Exemptions to 30 June 2003—Act, s 56, uniform subordinate legislation ’. (2) Section 6(1), ‘schedule 5’— omit, insert— ‘schedule 2A’. (3) Section 6— relocate and renumber , in part 3, division 2, as section 3B.

Part 3, division 4, heading, section 8 and part 3, division 5, heading— omit. ˙ Amendment of s 9 (Exemptions from expiry—Act, s 56A(2)) 11.(1) Section 9, heading— omit, insert— Exemptions to 30 June 2000—Act, s 56A(2), subject to review ’. (2) Section 9— renumber as section 6. ˙ Insertion of new ss 7 and 8 12. After section 6, as renumbered— insert— ˙ Exemptions to 31 August 2000—Act, s 56A(1)(a), replacement being drafted or no replacement proposed 7.(1) Subordinate legislation mentioned in schedule 7, if not repealed on or before 1 September 1999, is exempt from expiry under part 7 of the Act for the period ending at midnight on 31 August 2000 (the “exemption period” ). (2) The exemption of subordinate legislation under subsection (1) is because either— (a) replacement subordinate legislation is being drafted and is proposed to be made before the exemption period ends; or (b) the subordinate legislation is not proposed to be replaced by other subordinate legislation made under the Act under which or in relation to which it was made or preserved when it expires at the end of the exemption period. (3) The exemption for an instrument of subordinate legislation ends if the instrument stops having effect during the exemption period.
s 13 6 s 15 Statutory Instruments Amendment (No. 2) No. 192, 1999 ˙ Exemptions to 31 August 2000—Act, s 56A(1)(b), subject to review 8.(1) Subordinate legislation mentioned in schedule 8, if not repealed on or before 1 September 1999, is exempt from expiry under part 7 of the Act for the period ending at midnight on 31 August 2000 (the “exemption period” ). (2) The exemption of subordinate legislation under subsection (1) is because the Act or provision under which or in relation to which the subordinate legislation, or part of the subordinate legislation, is made or preserved is subject to review. (3) The exemption for an instrument of subordinate legislation ends if the instrument stops having effect during the exemption period.’. ˙ Amendment of sch 5 (Exemptions from expiry to 30 June 2003—legislation substantially uniform or complementary with legislation of the Commonwealth or another State) 13.(1) Schedule 5, after the schedule heading, ‘section 6’— omit, insert— ‘section 3B’. (2) Schedule 5— relocate and renumber , before schedule 3, as schedule 2A. ˙ Amendment of sch 6 (Exemptions from expiry to 30 June 2000—legislation under Act subject to review) 14. Schedule 6, after the schedule heading, ‘section 9’— omit, insert— ‘section 6’. ˙ Insertion of new schs 7 and 8— 15. After schedule 6— insert—
