An Act to amend the Statutory and Other Offices Remuneration Act, 1975, to make further provision with respect to the remuneration of commissioners of the Law Reform Commission. [Assented to, 20th March, 1981.1

Statutory and Other Offices Remuneration {Law Reform Commission) Amendment.

BE it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title.

1.          This Act may be cited as the “Statutory and Other Offices Remunera­

tion (Law Reform Commission) Amendment Act, 1981”.

Commencement.

2.      (1) This section and section 1 shall commence on the date of assent to

this Act.

(2) Except as provided by subsection (1), this Act shall commence on

the day appointed and notified under section 2 (2) of the Law Reform

Commission (Amendment) Act, 1981.

Amendment of Act No. 4, 1976.

3. The Statutory and Other Offices Remuneration Act, 1975, is amended

in the manner set forth in Schedule 1.

Savings.

4.          Notwithstanding section 3, the provisions of the Statutory and Other

Offices Remuneration Act, 1975, as in force immediately before the day appointed and notified under section 2 (2) of the Law Reform Commission (Amendment) Act, 1981, shall continue to apply to and in respect of the person who, immediately before that day, was the executive member of the Law Reform Commission appointed under section 6 of the Law Reform Commission Act, 1967, as so in force, and those provisions shall so continue to apply until the expiration of that person’s term of office or such time as that person vacates his office pursuant to the Law Reform Commission Act, 1967.

(1) Schedule 3—

From the matter relating to the Chairman of the Law Reform Commission in Column 2 of Part 1, omit “a retired judge of the Supreme Court”, insert instead “not the holder of a judicial office”.

(2) Schedule 3—

From.Column 2 of Part 1, omit “otherwise” where firstly, secondly and thirdly occurring, insert instead “reappointment”.

(3) Schedule 3—■

From Part 2,

omit “Executive member of the Law Reform

Commission.”.
