JAMES JACOB SPIGELMAN,

by Deputation from Her Excellency the Governor

I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the

advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 (2) of the Statute

Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act (No 2) 2001, do, by this my Proclamation,

appoint 19 July 2002 as the day on which Schedule 1.17 to that Act commences.

Explanatory note

The object of this proclamation is to commence the amendments to the Law and Justice Foundation

Act 2000 made by Schedule 1.17 to the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act (No 2) 2001.

The amendments provide for the appointment of an indigenous person to the Board of the Law and

Justice Foundation and make consequential amendments.

This proclamation is made under section 2 (2) of the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act

(No 2) 2001.
