I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of Schedule 1 to the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act (No. 2) 1991, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 27th of March 1992 as the day on which the amendments to the following Acts set out in that Schedule commence:

Animal Research Act 1985

Exhibited Animals Protection Act 1986

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the amendments to the Animal
Research Act 1985 and the Exhibited Animals Protection Act 1986 contained in the
Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act (No. 2) 1991. Those amendments

provide for the Director-General of the Department of Agriculture to take over the functions of the Director-General of the Department of Local Government and Co-operatives under the Animal Research Act 1985 and for the Director-General of the Department of Agriculture to take over the licensing, administrative and other functions that the Zoological Parks Board presently has under the Exhibited Animals Protection Act 1986.
