NO 55—PROCLAMATION

I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 (2) of the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1997, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 November 1997 as the day on which Schedule 1.l to that Act commences.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Proclamation is to commence provisions of the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1997 that amend the Bookmakers (Taxation) Act 1917. The amendments relate to the time in which the tax imposed on bookmakers must be paid and the records relating to the tax must be forwarded to the Minister.
