I, the Honourable A.M. Gleeson, Lieutenant-Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of, and Schedule 1.8 to, t he Statute Law (Miscellaneous

Provisions) Act 1997, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 September

1997 as the day on which Schedule 1.8 to that Act commences.
