I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of Schedule 1 to the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1994, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 May 1996 as the day on which the amendments to the Impounding Act 1993 set out in that Schedule commence.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence a provision of the Statute Law

(Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1994 that amends the Impounding Act 1993 so as to:

(a)

make the Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust an impounding authority for the purposes of the latter Act; and

(b) include the lands vested in the Trust within the meaning of “area of operations” for those purposes.

The effect of the amendments is that the Trust will be able to appoint impounding officers to impound certain animals and articles on Trusts lands, as provided for by the Act.
