I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A.C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of Schedule 1 to the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1994, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 July 1994 as the day on which the amendments to the Prisoners (Interstate Transfer) Act 1982 set out in that Schedule commence.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the amendments to the Prisoners (Interstate Transfer) Act 1982 contained in the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1994. The amendments are consequential on the enactment of the Prisoners (Interstate Transfer) Act 1993 of the Australian Capital Territory and on the participation of that Territory (as a participating State) in the interstate transfer of prisoners scheme.
