STATUTE LAW (MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS) ACT 1993
No. 46—PROCLAMATION
NEW SOUTH WALES
[Published in Gazette No. 8 of 7 January 1994]
(L.S.) P. R. SINCLAIR, Governor.
I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A.C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of Schedule 1 to the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1993, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 7 January 1994 as the day on which the amendments to the University of New South Wales Act 1989 set out in that Schedule commence.
Signed and sealed at Sydney, this 5th day of January 1994.
By His Excellency’s Command,
VIRGINIA CHADWICK
Minister for Education, Training and Youth Affairs.
GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!
EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Proclamation is to commence the amendments to the University of New South Wales Act
1989 contained in the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1993.
The amendments make the provision in the Act relating to the Chancellor parallel to that relating to the
Deputy Chancellor by revising the wording and by inserting a 4-year term of office in that provision.
At present the provision only sets an upper limit and leaves it to the University by-laws to specify the Exact term.
