EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the amendment to the Farrer Memorial Research Scholarship Fund Act 1930 contained in the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1993.

The amendment relates to the composition of the official trustees of the Fund. The reference to the Senior Deputy Director-General of the Department of Agriculture becomes a reference to the Deputy Director-General, as there is now only one such position in that Department. The reference to the Principal of Hawkesbury Agricultural College (an institution which no longer exists) is replaced with a reference to an officer of the CSIRO nominated by the Minister.
