I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, Governor of the State of New
South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of Schedule 1 to the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1992, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 October 1992 as the day on which the amendments to the Local Courts (Civil Claims) Act 1970 set out in that Schedule commence.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Proclamation is to commence the amendments to the Local Courts (Civil Claims) Act 1970 contained in Schedule 1 to the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1992.
The amendments:
| (a) | provide for the establishment of a Local Courts (Civil Claims) Rule |
Committee to make rules of court for the civil jurisdiction of Local Courts;
and
1992—No. 522
| (b) | enable court fees to be prescribed by regulation for that jurisdiction (currently these are prescribed by rules made by the Governor); and |
| (c) | provide that the existing rules of court are taken to be rules made by the |
Rule Committee and that existing court fees are taken to be regulations
made by the Governor.
