I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of Schedule 1 to the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1992, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 10 July 1992 as the day on which the following items set out in that Schedule commence:

• item (1) of the amendments to the Co-operation Act 1923;
• the amendments to the Government Guarantees Act 1934;
• item (2) of the amendments to the Lay-By Sales Act 1943;
• item (3) of the amendments to the Local Government Act 1919;
• the amendment to the Passenger Transport Act 1990;
• the amendments to the Stamp Duties Act 1920;

• item (1) of the amendments to the Sydney Turf Club Act 1943.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence certain amendments contained in the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1992. The effect of the amendments is to omit references in several enactments to the Government Insurance Office as a consequence of the privatisation of that undertaking in accordance with the Government Insurance Office (Privatisation) Act 1991.
