I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of Schedule 1 to the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1992, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 July 1992 as the day on which the amendments to the Children (Detention Centres) Act 1987 set out in that Schedule commence.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the amendments to the Children

(Detention Centres) Act 1987 contained in the Statute Law (Miscellaneous

Provisions) Act 1992. The amendments establish an Official Visitors Scheme for
detention centres and make minor changes relating to the administration of
provisions concerning the transfer of persons between detention centres and
prisons.
