I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of Schedule 1 to the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1991, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 September 1991 as the day on which the amendments to the Children (Care and Protection) Act 1987 set out in that Schedule commence.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the amendments to the Children (Care and Protection) Act 1987 contained in Schedule 1 to the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1991. Those amendments clarify certain matters in relation to special medical examinations and care applications, remove age restrictions in relation to the children’s Review Panel and make it an offence not to comply with an order relating to an assessment report.
