Statistics Determination² (Amendment)

I, SIMON FINDLAY CREAN, Minister of State for Science and Technology, acting for and on behalf of the Treasurer, hereby make the following Determination under section 13 of the Census and Statistics Act 1905.

Interpretation

Clause 1 of the Statistics Determination is amended:

(a) by adding “or an administrative unit, within the meaning of section 50 or 51 of the Australian Capital Territory (Self-Government) Act 1988, of the Australian Capital Territory” at the end of the definition of “Department”;

(b)   by omitting “or the Northern Territory,” from the definition of “Minister” and substituting “, the Australian Capital Territory or the Northern Territory,”;

(c)   by inserting after paragraph (a) in the definition of “Minister” the following paragraph:

“(aa)    in the case of  the Australian Capital Territory-a Minister within the meaning of the Australian Capital Territory (Self-Government) Act 1988; and”;

(d)   by inserting”, the Australian Capital Territory” before “or the Northern Territory,” (wherever occurring) in the definition of “responsible Minister”;

(e)   by inserting “the Australian Capital Territory (Self-Government) Act 1988 or” after “within the meaning of” in the definition of “State Act”.
