An
Act to amend the States Grants (Universities) Act 1969-1970.

BE
it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate, and the House of
Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:—
Short
title and citation.
1.—(1.) This Act may be cited as the States Grants (Universities) Act 1971.
(2.) The States
Grants (Universities) Act 1969-1970 is in this Act referred
to as the Principal Act.
(3.) The Principal Act, as amended by this Act,
may be cited as the States Grants (Universities) Act 1969-1971.
Commencement.
2. This Act shall come into operation on the day on which it receives
the Royal Assent.
Salary
rates.
3. Section 4 of the Principal Act is amended—
(a) by omitting from paragraph (a)of sub-section (1.) the words “Fourteen
thousand four hundred dollars” and inserting in their stead the words “Fifteen
thousand two hundred and sixty-four dollars”;
(b) by omitting from paragraph (b)of that sub-section the words “Eleven
thousand eight hundred and eighty dollars” and inserting in their stead the
words “Twelve thousand five hundred and ninety-three dollars”;
(c) by omitting from paragraph (c)of that sub-section the words “Ten
thousand five hundred dollars” and inserting in their stead the words “Eleven
thousand one hundred and thirty dollars”;
(d) by omitting from paragraph (d)of that sub-section the words “Eight
thousand seven hundred and sixty dollars” and inserting in their stead the
words “Nine thousand two hundred and eighty-six dollars”; and
(e) by omitting from paragraph (e)of that sub-section the words “Six
thousand three hundred and eighteen dollars” and inserting in their stead the
words “Six thousand six hundred and ninety-seven dollars”.
First
Schedule.
4. The First Schedule to the Principal Act is amended by omitting
Parts II. and III. and inserting in their stead the following Parts:—

Schedule.
6. The Sixth Schedule to the Principal Act is amended by omitting from
the second column the words (in relation to The Royal Alexandra Hospital for
Children)—
“Autopsy—teaching area”
and
inserting in their stead the words—
“Hospital
library—extensions”.
