Amendment Statement of Principles

concerning

DIVERTICULAR DISEASE OF THE COLON

No. 51 of 2008

for the purposes of the

Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986

and

Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004

1. This Instrument may be cited as Statement of Principles concerning diverticular disease of the colon No. 51 of 2008.

1. The Repatriation Medical Authority amends, under subsection 196B(2) of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986, Statement of Principles concerning diverticular disease of the colon No. 13 of 2008 by:

(A)Replacing the existing wording of factor "(b)" in clause 6 with the following:

"an inability to consume an average daily intake of at least 30 grams of dietary fibre, or a cumulative total of 54 750 grams of dietary fibre, within the five years before the clinical onset of diverticular disease of the colon; or"

1. The amendment made by this instrument applies to all matters to which Instrument No. 13 of 2008, section 120A of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986 and section 338 of the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004 apply.

1. The amendment made by this instrument takes effect from 2 July 2008.
