4 yearly review of modern awards – common issues – casual employment and part-time employment – draft directions

[1] This statement deals with the draft directions for the casual employment and part-time employment common issues.

[2] On 18 December 2014, draft directions were issued in relation to these common issues. The draft directions were the subject of a mention on 22 December 2014 where the employer and employee parties expressed concern about the proposed timeframes 1.

[3] Parties are advised that these draft directions do not need to be complied with. In particular, parties seeking to be heard on these issues are not required to file material by Friday 13 February 2015.

[4] The Fair Work Commission will issue amended directions for these matters in due course.
