AN ACT to remove Doubts as to the Validity of certain Acts done and Transactions entered into in purported exercise of Powers under the State (Western Australian) Alunite Industry Act, 1946; and to amend that Act.

RE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-
1. This Act may be cited as the State (Western golfine.
Australian) Alunite Industry Act Amendment Act, of 1946, 8. 1.
1950, and shall be read as one with the State (Western Australian) Alunite Industry Act, 1946, hereinafter referred to as the principal Act.
2. The principal Act, as amended by this Act, may ,-'14,(Zryf

Amendment
| of S. 9. | 3. (1) Section nine of the principal Act is |
amended as follows:
| (a) | By inserting after paragraph (b) of sub- |
section (1) a new paragraph (ba) as fol-
lows:—
(ba) to carry out, upon any lands (whether or not dedicated to the purposes of this Act), experiments and research in relation to the eco- nomical production of products;
| (b) | by inserting after paragraph (c) of sub- |
section (1) a new paragraph (d) as
follows:
| (d) | to sell, lease, let on hire or otherwise dispose of, upon such terms and con- ditions as the Minister shall think fit, any property vested in or acquired by the Minister or by the Board; |
Provided that none of such pro- perty shall be sold without the approval of Parliament to the sale and terms and conditions thereof if, as the result of the sale, the Minister would be unable to maintain and carry on works, plant and under- takings for the purpose of producing products.

(2) Subsection (1) of this section shall have effect
operation. and shall be deemed to have had effect and to have
been in operation as from and including the date
of the commencement of the principal Act.
| Validation. | 4. All acts, matters and things done or executed, and all transactions entered into by the Minister or by the Board in relation to certain lands con- taining alunite or alunite deposits at or near Lake Chandler, or to the business, experiments or researches carried on in respect of such lands, which acts, matters, things or transactions would have been valid if such lands had been dedicated to the purposes of the principal Act and the principal Act had been amended by this Act, shall be deemed to be and always to have been valid and effectual, and are hereby ratified and validated. |
