State Superannuation (Amendment) Regulations

1996

The Governor in Council, after consideration of a report from
the Victorian Superannuation Board, makes the following
Regulations:

1. Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to make amendments to the Principal Regulations to—

(a)	update the superannuation schemes that are prescribed superannuation schemes;
(b)	amend the section numbers of the State Superannuation Act 1988 that refer to the prescribed rate of interest; and
(c)	insert the date from which the regulation relating to "recognised service" is to operate.

2. Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 92 of the State Superannuation Act 1988.

3. Principal Regulations

In these Regulations the 1State Superannuation
Regulations 1988 are referred to as the Principal

Regulations.

4. Amendment of regulation 7

(1) In regulation 7 of the Principal Regulations, in

sub-regulation (a), after "established" insert "and

maintained".

(2) In regulation 7 of the Principal Regulations, for

sub-regulation (c), substitute—

"(c) The Construction and Building Unions

Superannuation Scheme;".

(3) In regulation 7 of the Principal Regulations,

sub-regulation (d) is revoked.

5. Amendment of regulation 8

In regulation 8 of the Principal Regulations, in
sub-regulation (1) for "34(6), 43(1), 46(1), 47(4),
49(8), 49(9), 53(7), 58(1) and 71" substitute

"46(1) and 58(1)".

6. Amendment of regulation 16

In regulation 16 of the Principal Regulations, in sub-regulation (1), for the word "For" substitute "On and from 30 November 1993, for".
