State Service (Restructuring) Order 2004

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Minister, make the following order under section 11 of the State Service Act 2000 .2 February 2004

1Short titleThis order may be cited as the State Service (Restructuring) Order 2004 . 2CommencementThis order takes effect on 2 February 2004. 3Amalgamation of Government departments, &c. (1)  The Office of Industrial Relations, part of the Department of Justice and Industrial Relations, is amalgamated with the Department of Premier and Cabinet. (2)  Racing Services Tasmania, part of the Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources, is amalgamated with the Department of Economic Development. 4Change of nameThe name of the Government department known as the Department of Justice and Industrial Relations is changed to the Department of Justice.

Displayed and numbered in accordance with the Rules Publication Act 1953.

This order is administered in the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the order) This order effects a restructuring of the State Service by –

(a) amalgamating parts of Government Departments with other Government departments; and (b) changing the name of a Government department.
