STATE LOTTERIES ACT 1930 – REGULATION

(Relating to prizes for instant lotteries)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the State Lotteries Act 1930, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The State Lotteries (Instant Lotteries) Regulation 1983 is amended by omitting clause 7 (2) and by inserting instead the following subclauses:

(2) The Minister is to determine the proportion of the subscriptions to an instant lottery that is to be allocated for the payment of prizes.

(3) Subject to the Minister's determination, the number of tickets in an instant lottery, the amount of cash prizes and the number and nature of other prizes are to be determined by the Director.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to amend the State Lotteries (Instant Lotteries) Regulation 1983 to provide for the Minister to determine the proportion of subscriptions to an instant lottery to be allocated for the payment of prizes and for the Director of State Lotteries to determine other matters related to tickets and prizes.
