[ASSENTED TO 4TH DECEMBER, 1930.] B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent l\1ajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- PART 1.- PRELIMINARY. PART I.-PRELIMINARY. Short titl.e, 1. This Act may be cited as "The State Housing ~ ~ ~ S! ~ ~ ~ lOn, Relief Act of 1930," and shall be read and construed with mencement the State Advances Act, the Workers' Homes Act, and of Act. the Discharged Soldiers' Settlement Act respectively. This Act shall come into operation on a date to lle proclaimed by the Governor in Council by Proclamation published in the Gazette, which date is herein referred to as the commencement of this Act. The extent to which the borrower. has been or is being detrimentally affected by unemployment or other causes; (ii.) The amount of arrears (if any) in respect of monthly instalments; (iii.) The terms and conditions of repayment of the advance; (iv.) Any other factors and circumstances as may be deemed fit and proper. Mini8ter to consider recom- mendation. (3.) The Minister shall consider such recommenda- tion and ma J v , in his absolute discretion, approve of such recommendation or may refuse such recommendation, or may refer suuh recommendation back to the Corporation for farther inquiry. Decision of (4.) The Minister shall in his decision determine the Minister. the extent, if any, to which such relief shall be granted. Such relief may be in respect of all or any of the following matters and things:- (i.) An extension of the period of repayment of principal and interest due under the mortgage, and the particulars of such extension, with the concomitant variation in the amount of monthly instalment; (ii.) The making of interest only payable, and the period within which interest only shall be payable; (iii.) The funding of any arrears of monthly instalments; (iv.) Any relief, and, if so, the extent thereof to be made in respect of painting, repairs, or other conditions of the mortgage concerned; (v.) Any special conditions deemed necessary either generally or in any particular case. Decision of Minister to be in his absolute discretion. (5.) It is hereby declared that t~ decision of the Minister in respect of any such application shall be a decision in his absolute discretion, and shall not be subject to any appeal or review by any tribunal whatsoever.

For the purpose of affording a measure of relief Reli~ f. to a purchaser (as defined in the Workers' Homes Act), prOVISIOns, detrimentally affected through unemployment or other causes (or to any person who may after the commence- ment of this Act become a purchaser and who shall have become detrimentally affected as aforesaid), it is hereby declared and enacted as follows:- (1.) Any such purchaser as aforesaid may apply, by tpplication notice in writing under his hand in the prescribed form or p~ rchaser. to the like effect, to the Corporation that he desires his contract of sale to be considered by the Corporation under this Act. (2.) Regulations. Regulations. 9. The Governor in Council may from time to time make .egulations providing for all or any purposes, whether general or to meet particular cases, that may be convenient for the administration of this Act, or that may be necessary or expedient to carry out the objects and purposes of this Act. Such regulations may be made on the passing of this Act. All regulations shall, upon being published in the Gazette, be of the same effect as if they were enacted in this Act, and shall be judicially noticed and shall not be questioned m any proceedings whatsoever.
