AN ACT to authorise the purchase, acquisition, or resumption of certain Lands for the purposes of the Forests Act, 1918-1931.

Preamble. HEREAS it is enacted by section twenty-two of the

WForests Act, 1918-1931, that the Governor, subject

to the consent of Parliament, may, under the Public Works Act, 1902-1933, purchase, acquire, resume, or appropriate land for the purpose of a State forest, or to provide access thereto, and that such purchase, acquisi- tion, resumption, or appropriation shall be deemed to be an authorised work: And whereas, in pursuance of powers conferred in the said Act, large areas of State forest have recently been released for sawmilling operations and it is necessary to provide access thereto: And whereas, in order to provide such access, it will be necessary for the Governor to purchase, acquire, or resume lands which have been or are in the course of being alienated from the Crown, and it is deemed desir- able and expedient that, in accordance with section twenty-two of the said Act, the Parliament consent to the purchase, acquisition, or resumption of the said

lands by the Governor for the purpose aforesaid: Be it

therefore enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the author- ity of the same, as follows:—

to this Act and coloured green on Forests Department Plans No. 744 and No. 745, as may be necessary for the purpose of providing through the said lands and along the route shown approximately in red on the said plans adequate access to areas of State forest west of Yornup, south-east of Manjimup, and south-east of Jardee respectively, which have been or are about to be released for sawmilling operations under the provisions of the principal Act, is or are hereby approved and authorised.
