An Act to amend the State Emergency Services and Civil Defence Act 1972 with respect to the Director of State Emergency Services and Civil Defence and the nomination of officers for the purposes of the Act. [Assented to 24 August 1989]

State Emergency Services and Civil Dejence ( Atnendment) 1989
The Legislature of New South Wales enacts:
Short title
1. This Act may be cited as the State Emergency Services and Civil
Defence (Amendment) Act 1989.
Commencement
2. This Act commences on a day or days to be appointed by
proclamation.
Amendment of State Emergency Services and Civil Defence Act 1972
No. 11
3. The State Emergency Services and Civil Defence Act 1972 is
amended as set out in Schedule 1.
SCHEDULE 1 - AMENDMENTS
(Sec. 3)
(1) Section 3 (Definitions):
(a) Omit the definition of "Director", insert instead:
"Director" means the person for the time being holding office under the Public Sector Management Act 1988 as the Director of State Emergency Services and Civil Defence;
| (b) | In paragraph (b) of the definition of "officer", after "Act;", insert "or". |
| (c) | Omit paragraph (c) of the definition of "officer". |
(2) Section 5a (Director of State Emergency Services and Civil
Defence):
Omit the section.
(3) Section 5b (Nomination of members of Police Force as officers):
Omit the section.
