Short title. 1# This Act may be cited as “ The State Electricity Commission Acts and Another Act Amendment Act of 1957.” Parts of Act. 2. This Act is divided into Parts as follows P art I. —P reliminary ; P art II. —A mendments of *“ T he S tate E lectricity C ommission A cts , 1937 to 1954 ” ; P art III.— A mendment of f “ T he E lectric L ight and P ower A cts , 1896 to 1946.” PART II.— A mendments of “T he S tate E lectricity C ommission P art II. —A mendments of *“ T he S tate E lectricity C ommission A cts , 1937 to 1954.” 1937 to 1954 .” 3. Section twenty-five of *“ The State Electricity Commission Acts, 1937 to 1954,” is amended by 1937 T0 1954- repealing subparagraph (q) of subsection one of that^® 2 ^“|nt section, and by inserting, in lieu of that repealed iGeo:yi. subparagraph, the following subparagraph :— ' N " o. 26. “(g) From time to time subject to approval by the Governor in Council and subject to such terms and conditions as the Governor in Council may fix to provide and lend moneys to— (i.) Any Regional Board under and within the meaning of +“ The Regional Electric Authorities Acts, 1945 to 1957,” for the purpose of enabling the Regional Board to carry out its powers, authorities, duties and functions under those Acts, and (ii.) Any Local Authority which is also an Electric Authority for the purpose of enabling such Local Authority to carry out its powers, authorities, duties and functions as an Electric Authority, and to invest any moneys held by the Commission (including any moneys borrowed by the Commission under the authority of this Act) and not immediately required in debentures, bonds, stock, Treasury Bills, or other securities of the Government of Queensland or of the Commonwealth, or in any other manner howsoever as approved by the Governor in Council.” 5. Subsection one of section 25 a of *“ The State Amendment Electricity Commission Acts, 1937 to 1954,” is amended of by inserting, after the words “ Regional Board ”, where No. 26 . those words appear twice in paragraph (ii.), the words “ or Local Authority ”, P art III.— P art III. —A mendment of J“ T he E lectric L ight A ot ™ t I et and P ower A cts , 1896 to 1946.” uo S t S P ower A cts , 6. The following section, numbered 13 a , is inserted Power of after section thirteen of the Principal Act:— Electric Authority to “ [13 a .] If a Local Authority which is also an hire plant. Electric Authority is unable for any reason whatsoever to supply electricity in any portion of the Area, wherein it is authorised by Order to supply electricity, the Local Authority may, with the approval of the Commission, purchase and resell or hire to another Local Authority, or to a company or person, authorised by an Order or license to supply electricity within that portion of the Area, any works necessary to enable that other Local Authority, company or person to supply electricity therein : Provided that works shall not be sold or hired under the authority of this section, save upon terms and conditions approved by the Commission.” FACTORIES AND SHOPS.
