I. PUBLIC ACTS OP THE PARLIAMENT OF QUEENSLAND, ELIZ. II. CHILDREN. An Act to Amend "The State Children Acts, 1911 4 N E o l . iz 2 . 4 I . I. to 1952,” in a certain particular. T he S tate C hildren A cts A mendment [A ssented to 10 th O ctober , 1955.] A ct of 1955. E it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, B by and with the advice and consent of the Legis­ lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:— 1. (1.) This Act may be cited as “ The State Children short title. Acts Amendment Act of 1955.” (2.) *“ The State Children Acts , 1911 to 1952,” are Principal in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. Aot- (3.) The Principal Act and this Act may be Collective collectively cited as The State Children Acts, 1911 to tltle' 1955.” 2. Section thirty-seven of the Principal Act is Amendment amended by adding thereto the following proviso,of 8-37* namely— “ Provided further that in every case where a State child over the age of fourteen years is attending school for the purpose of qualifying for and obtaining a State scholarship and is a pupil in the scholarship class of the school so attended, the State shall, subject to such child continuing to be such a pupil, continue to maintain or assist in the maintenance of such child until the completion of the State scholarship examination next following his or her fourteenth birthday and, subject further to such child sitting for that examination, thereafter until the names of the candidates qualifying for State scholarships thereat are made public.”. * 2 G. 5 No. 11 and amending Acts.
