State Authorities Superannuation Amendment (Thiess Services Pty Limited) Order 2013

under the

State Authorities Superannuation Act 1987

MARIE BASHIR, Governor I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 46 of the State Authorities Superannuation Act 1987, make the following Order.

Explanatory note
Thiess Services Pty Limited (Thiess) has entered into an agreement with Sydney Water Corporation (the Corporation) to undertake certain services on behalf of the Corporation. A number of the Corporation’s employees employed on a permanent basis are transferring to Thiess and some of those employees are contributors to the State Authorities Superannuation Fund (the Fund).
The object of this Order is to update the list of employers in Schedule 1 to the State Authorities Superannuation Act 1987 to include Thiess. This will mean that those employees:

(a)	who, immediately before 1 July 2013, were contributors to the Fund and employed on a permanent basis by the Corporation, and
(b)	who were made and accepted an offer of employment under the agreement between the Corporation and Thiess dated 25 January 2013 and known as the Operational (Mechanical and Electrical) and Facilities Maintenance Collaborative Services Agreement,

will continue to be covered by the State Authorities Superannuation Scheme.

This Order is made under section 46 of the State Authorities Superannuation Act 1987.

1      Name of Order

This Order is the State Authorities Superannuation Amendment (Thiess
Services Pty Limited) Order 2013.

2      Commencement

This Order is taken to have commenced on 1 July 2013 and is required to be published on the NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of State Authorities Superannuation Act 1987 No 211

Schedule 1 Employers

Insert at the end of Part 1 of the Schedule:

Thiess Services Pty Limited (limited to those employees:

(a)	who, immediately before 1 July 2013, were contributors to the Fund and employed on a permanent basis by Sydney Water Corporation, and
(b)	who were made and accepted an offer of employment under the agreement between Sydney Water Corporation and Thiess Services Pty Limited dated 25 January 2013 and known as the Operational (Mechanical and Electrical) and Facilities Maintenance Collaborative Services Agreement).
